Overview
Prague Art Hall’s historic interior imposed tight limits on wiring and furniture changes, which created a design challenge. Meanwhile, the venue needed flexible elements that could bring together different exhibitions. The solution had to be both practical and visually appealing—something that could make visitors smile without breaking the immersive experience. For expo events and other dynamic exhibitions, mil risas introduced the Cloud Lighted Bench, a glowing seat that combines light, function, and playful interaction.
Challenges
The exhibition, built around the themes “The Eternal World” and “Gamified Reality,” called for a unified and engaging atmosphere. In practice, however, existing furniture and temporary setups often disrupted this flow. Adjusting lighting and layouts across different exhibitions or events proved difficult.
Within the historic converted building, space came with tight limits. Changes to electrical systems, lighting, or adding large furniture were heavily restricted. As a result, every adjustment had to be carefully planned to protect the architecture and keep a harmonious look.
Catering to a wide range of visitors—including students, families, and the general public— the exhibition had to meet very different needs for lighting, seating, and interaction. This made balancing storytelling, educational goals, and comfort a real challenge.
Meanwhile, visitors naturally stopped to take photos, interact with exhibits, or linger in popular areas. Without clear guidance and set rest areas, these behaviors could block sightlines, slow traffic, and increase safety and maintenance concerns.
Solution
Mil Risas introduced a cloud-shaped illuminated bench to Prague Art Hall, providing a flexible solution that adapts to changing exhibition themes. With dimmable lighting and adjustable color temperature, the bench can shift between warm, cool, or colored tones to match each exhibition, helping keep a unified atmosphere. Made from lightweight, eco-friendly PE material, it moves easily to fit different layouts, while its soft glow and simple design deliver function without disrupting the visitor experience.
Designed for historic spaces, the bench includes a built-in battery system, so no electrical changes are needed. Its small footprint allows fast setup and removal, making it ideal for venues with tight space and architectural limits. Thanks to its understated design and gentle light, the bench fits smoothly into the hall, preserving the building’s original character.
Suitable for both children and adults, the bench offers places to rest, have informal gatherings, or hold group discussions. Adjustable lighting modes make it perfect for student programs, family visits, or general audiences. By encouraging gentle interaction, the bench engages visitors without distracting from the artworks.
Serving as both seating and spatial guidance, the illuminated benches naturally draw visitors to pause and linger, reducing crowding in busy areas. Softer lighting settings allow photos and interaction without affecting the main displays. Built to last, its pressure- and impact-resistant structure performs reliably in high-traffic spaces, helping minimize maintenance needs.
Results
Throughout the exhibition hall, the Cloud Lighted Bench fit naturally into its surroundings, balancing beauty with practical use. Along the way, it reduced crowding in busy areas while inviting visitors to pause, sit, and interact. As people engaged with the space, playful lighting created photo-ready moments that quickly spread on social media, capturing smiles, laughter, and spontaneous joy. Following the installation, Prague Art Hall offered glowing feedback—both literally and figuratively—showing that light can truly brighten spirits.
